Just a quick ‘heads up’ for people with SkyQ. The SkyQ update the other day has caused all sorts of issues with clients systems. Basically the update changed your program guide as BBC1 HD is now moved to channel 101 which finally allows the local news and the main news to go out on the same channel (instead of HD being 115 and SD being 101) so we no longer get the dreaded ‘red screen’. BUT…../ several people have had issues with the Mini boxes locking up or saying ‘Technical fault’ on the tv screen. If you find things are not working, please turn off the power to your main SkyQ box and any additional Mini boxes. Power back on your SkyQ main box, wait for it to reboot, check its working with the tv, then turn on any additional Mini boxes, wait for those to reboot and then check they work. You will find that when going to the ‘Guide’ for the first time, it will take a little while to fully re-load all the guide, be patient!
Most important is to check your recording sheduled items that were originally on BBC1 HD channel 115 as that does not exist anymore, I would re-add any programs to be recorded on the new BBCHD 101 channel as I’ve had many reports of the update NOT moving the sheduled recordings from channel 115 to 101….. So if you want to record Eastenders tonight in HD, set it to record on channel 101. If anyone still has issues, feel free to get in touch.
